MENTORSHIP PROGRAM
About the Mentoring Program Global Give Back Circle aims to empower young women from Africa to achieve social and economic independence by providing them with support through a dynamic mentorship program. Global Give Back Circle matches successful business professionals and entrepreneurs with some of Africa’s brightest future leaders. These individuals are emboldened to dream big, be inquisitive, and blossom into independent, empowered individuals. Together, Arizona State University and Global Give Back Circle manage the program operations, while Mastercard Foundation provides the funding to make it all possible. Every young African deserves an education and the support to succeed in dignified and fulfilling careers. The Global Give Back Circle works with partners who are aligned with our mission to support a world of gender equity through the mentorship, education, leadership development and economic empowerment of at-risk adolescent girls.
Meet our Intern
Precious Modisane Knowledgeable Legal Intern with a solid understanding of court proceedings, litigation documentation and relationship building with clients. Ambitious, focused and dedicated law student driven to succeed in the legal field. Have the ability to conduct legal research and draft documents. Eager to gain valuable hands-on experience within the field.
My past experience
Precious Modisane has gained substantial legal experience through various roles. Since January 2022, she has been a Legal Intern at Jiyana Langa Inc Attorneys, where she conducts legal research, drafts legal documents, interacts with clients, assists with letters to the Masters High Court, uplifts court files, prepares memos, and reviews documents. Additionally, she volunteered as an Administrative Clerk at the Johannesburg Magistrate Court from January to June 2023. In this role, she performed digital recordings of court proceedings, completed and issued committal warrants, prepared court rolls and witness fees books, received RDJ and sent it to the magistrate, and provided administrative support to both the court and the public at the help desk. She also managed the filing of case documents and other court papers, issued letters of demand, and served summons. Precious possesses strong administrative legal support, research skills, teamwork, document filing, time management, and proficiency in Microsoft Office.

The Baobab Platform, a digital community within the Mastercard Foundation network, amplifies networks, facilitates collaboration, and offers resources for aspiring young leaders and experienced African business leaders. Enhancing transformative leadership skills, the platform features interactive modules, connections with like-minded peers and mentors, and valuable resources. As an organization committed to empowerment and community impact, our Managing Director, Ms. Rachel Jiyana, actively participates as a mentor, aligning with the values and vision of the Global Give Back Circle.
Our Participation
Empowerment, transformation and skills transfer/development are part of our key values. Our mission is to be intentionally in creating change and ploughing to the community (by all means necessary). The Baobab Platform Mentorship Program has afforded our Managing Director, Ms Rachel Jiyana, an opportunity to participate as a mentor to aspiring young African leaders. As an organisation, we align ourselves to the values and vision of the Global Give Back Circle.
VACATION
WORK PROGRAM
Our Vacation Work Program offers graduates as well as students in their penultimate year of study the opportunity to participate in the 2 week Program. The qualification criteria requires students who hold or studying towards an LLB Degree, BA Law and/or B.Com Law. The students are also offered an interview for articles, on completion of the Program. Our team of expertise are committed to guiding the students in the various fields of law and delivery of quality legal services. The students get the opportunity tp shadow our lawyers and understanding the day-to-day life of a lawyer. We are excited to welcoming high academic achievers and aspirant young lawyers.
